Finance portfolio

The Finance portfolio works with all areas of the University to provide a wide range of services including student finance, accounting, asset management, financial planning and budgets, procurement, taxation, and systems support and training.

The portfolio oversees:

Financial Operations (Associate Director – Rhonda Hartigan)

John Blair

John Blair was appointed to the role of Director, Management Accounting and Budget in September 2009, Chief Finance Officer in March 2011 and Chief Operating Officer / CFO in January 2014. He is responsible for managing, directing and advising on all aspects of the financial position of Federation.

John has extensive experience in complex organisations, having occupied senior roles in local government in the UK. He has focused on transforming teams into excellent outwardly focused service providers.

John is a qualified accounting member of the Institute of Chartered Public and Financial Accountants (CIPFA), which is the only professional accountancy body exclusively dedicated to public finance in the world.
