After you apply
Wondering what comes next after applying to Federation University? Learn about offer letters, waitlists, how we assess applications, extra requirements and more.
What happens after you apply
If you’re a direct applicant, we’ll send you an email to let you know that we’ve received your application. After we’ve assessed it, we’ll send you an offer letter or, well – the opposite of that.
If you’re a VTAC applicant, VTAC will notify you of the outcome. If you receive an offer, we’ll send you an email about how to accept it and what to do next.
If you’re not successful straightaway but the course you’ve applied for has a waitlist, you might get a late offer – we’ll send you regular updates.
How we decide who gets a place
Secondary education background
We’ll use your ATAR and any adjustment factors (e.g. Special Entry Access Scheme) to rank you. We’ll also consider any essential requirement submissions. The number of offers made will be based on course-specific quotas.
The good news? Guaranteed ATARs apply to some of our undergraduate courses. This means if your ATAR is equal to or above this number (and you meet the course prerequisites and any essential requirements), you’re in.
