The AUR20720 Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation provides creative hands-on skills training and covers operational skills and knowledge such as identifying and inspecting mechanical and electrical components and systems of light vehicles, heavy vehicles, outdoor power equipment, bicycles, marine craft and motorcycles. This qualification also covers the skills and knowledge required to perform minor maintenance and repair of an automotive vehicle body.

If you’re eligible to enrol in a course under the Victorian Government Free TAFE initiative, the tuition would be free but you’d still have to pay the materials fee (if applicable).

Information
- Our Mt Helen, SMB, Camp St and Gillies St campuses are located in Ballarat. Testing.
Contact hours
Students will complete 15 hours per week of on campus study. Classes are held 2 days per week on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 8.30am to 4.00pm. This course will run for a period of 18 weeks.
Additional study time may be required to complete assessments, classroom readings and activities. We recommend that approximately 2 hours per week should be put aside for these activities.

Entry requirements
For all TAFE applications, pre-training review questions and a literacy and numeracy review are part of the application process.
A selection process is usually required to allocate places in this course. Hence interviews are conducted for all applicants to determine place offerings.
This is a part-time course and does not meet the eligibility requirements for an Exemption from School
