Store, share and publish your digital research files in Federation.figshare
Federation.figshare is our collaborative digital repository for research data at Federation University. It’s a secure, easy to use platform where Federation researchers, Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates, and professional staff can store, share, and publish research data and files.
Federation.figshare helps you to make your research outputs FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) and encourages you to consider the CARE Principles for Indigenous data governance.
Why use Federation.figshare
Federation.figshare is recommended for sharing and publishing research outputs to support transparency, reuse, and impact.

How to upload your data to Federation.figshare
- Login to Federation.figshare with your Federation details and select ‘Approve.’
- Go to the ‘My content’ menu found on the top right of the page and select 'Items.’
- Select ‘Create new’ and then choose the item type you’re uploading (dataset, figure, media, etc.)
- Upload your file by dragging and dropping it into the box or select your file from the browse option.
- Select ‘Continue to metadata’ and add contextual information to your item.
- When you’re ready to make your item public, select ‘Publish item.’ Be aware that once the item is published, it can only be removed with library permission.
