Student Senate
The Senate speaks up for all Federation students and works to create positive change across the university. Got an idea to improve student life? You can contact a rep or – even better – become one yourself.

What is the Senate?
The Student Senate is made up of students from different campuses and cohorts. This diverse group exists to:
- raise feedback with senior University staff
- advocate on behalf of Federation students
- help you find the right university service on campus and online
- propose changes at Federation University.
Anyone can apply to join the Senate. The selection process is democratic and you’ll have the opportunity to vote for nominees that represent you – whether that’s your campus, study level or academic institute. All students are encouraged to vote (although it's not compulsory).
Applications now open
Applications for the Student Senate open 20 July. This is your chance to influence University decisions, raise student issues and share new ideas. Download the Notice of Nominations and Elections (177KB) and explore the positions available
