ARHON4104 Honours Project 1
This is the first in a sequence of two subjects in which students complete their Honours thesis. Under supervision, students formulate a question and then research and write an extended research thesis of 12,000 to 15,000 words or equivalent (for example, creative practice with exegesis). The thesis demonstrates students' advanced knowledge and skills as relevant to their discipline. The topic must be approved by the disciplinary honours coordinator and/or supervisor. This unit will compose of regular discussions between the student and the individual supervisor to progress their research thesis and/or creative deliverables. It will have a strong focus on building thesis drafts/early versions from existing units that have scaffolded the student towards the final research output.
Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) unit fee
A Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) is one that is subsidised by the Australian Government, which means students only pay the student contribution amount of the tuition fee. CSPs are only available to eligible domestic students.
The student contribution amount depends on the unit and how much funding the Government provides. Each unit is classified into a band based on its discipline (which may be different to your overall course discipline).
2026 student contribution amount: $1,185
2026 grandfathered student contribution amount (for students who commenced before 1 Jan 2021*): $1,185
* If you are a continuing student (who commenced your course before 1 January 2021) you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.
