EDTAS1206 Developing VET curriculum for training providers and industry
This unit equips students with the skills and knowledge required to develop and evaluate curriculum for the vocational education and training (VET) sector and non-accredited workplace settings. The curriculum may be based on training package qualifications and units of competency, or other accredited and non-accredited courses, including units developed in collaboration with employers. The unit focuses on the development of effective training strategies, the selection and development of appropriate delivery methods, and the creation of suitable learning resources. These skills can be applied in Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and industry contexts. Students will explore the principles of curriculum design in the VET sector and learn how to work confidently with enterprises as external or internal clients in providing training services and advice. The importance of training program evaluation is explored and applied in addition to planning and conducting a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) as part of establishing and fostering effective Industry-RTO partnerships.
Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) unit fee
A Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) is one that is subsidised by the Australian Government, which means students only pay the student contribution amount of the tuition fee. CSPs are only available to eligible domestic students.
The student contribution amount depends on the unit and how much funding the Government provides. Each unit is classified into a band based on its discipline (which may be different to your overall course discipline).
2026 student contribution amount: $592
2026 grandfathered student contribution amount (for students who commenced before 1 Jan 2021*): $592
* If you are a continuing student (who commenced your course before 1 January 2021) you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.
