HEALT2175 Nutrition for Health, Exercise and Performance
This unit introduces students to the principles of nutrition for health across the lifespan, physical activity and sport performance. Students examine the relationship between diet and health outcomes, including the prevention and management of chronic disease. The unit develops skills in dietary assessment, interpretation of nutrition information, and the application of evidence-based nutrition strategies for active individuals within the scope of practice. Students also explore the social, cultural, and behavioural factors that influence food choices, evaluate the role of nutrition supplements, and develop an understanding of the Accredited Exercise Science scope of practice and referral pathways when providing general nutrition advice.
