PSYCM7013 Professional Practice: Stage 3

This unit provides students with an opportunity to consolidate and extend their clinical psychology competencies through supervised practice in an approved placement setting. Students undertake culturally responsive assessment, diagnosis and formulation of increasingly complex psychological presentations and select, implement and evaluate evidence-based interventions appropriate to clients¿ developmental, sociocultural and service contexts. Students use supervision, reflective practice and routine outcome monitoring to refine clinical decision-making and adapt psychological care. They further develop professional communication, interprofessional collaboration and consultation skills while applying ethical, legal and professional standards, including culturally safe practice and the ethical and competent use of digital technologies.

Commonwealth supported place (CSP)

A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

* For Psychology and Social Work bands the unit fee amount is determined by accredited courses. Students in Postgraduate Clinical Psychology, Professional Pathway Psychology or Professional Pathway Social Work accredited courses should refer to the information below.

Postgraduate Clinical Psychology and Professional Pathway CSP unit fees

For Psychology band units, the student contribution amount is based on the Field of Education code and your enrolled course. Only approved courses qualify for Psychology fee bands.

This fee band is for Psychology units (Field of Education code 90701) studied in the Master of Psychology (Clinical).

This fee band is for Behavioural Science units (Field of Education code starting with 0907) studied in the Bachelor of Psychological Science or Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours).
 
Students enrolled in courses not approved for these fees will pay the standard student contribution above. Bachelor of Community and Human Services, Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work students undertaking units with 0907 FOE codes are not eligible for Professional Pathway fees. Domestic full fee–paying places

A domestic full fee–paying place is one that isn’t subsidised by the Australian Government. These places are offered to postgraduate students or those who are ineligible for a CSP.
