VCHAT1011 Visual Culture: An Introduction
This unit introduces students to visual culture as a field of inquiry for understanding how images, objects, artworks, design forms, exhibitions and visual media are created, interpreted, valued and received within historical, stylistic, social and cultural contexts. Students will develop foundational knowledge of visual culture and introductory methods of analysis, with attention to formal elements, interpretation, evidence, argument and visual arts terminology.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
