The Aboriginal Education Centre (AEC) is a welcoming space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and staff at Federation University. We’re here to offer support and guidance, culture and connection.

We also work closely with schools to help create culturally safe pathways to TAFE and university, run and promote First Peoples events across our campuses and build meaningful relationships with the wider community.

Facilities

You're welcome to use our:

dedicated student computer lounge
kitchen facilities with free food, snacks and drinks
stationery and equipment (including pens, laminators and printers).

Services

We offer free:

career guidance, placements and internships
cultural wellbeing sessions and counselling
advice about deadly scholarships and grants (internal and external)
one-to-one or group tutoring for eligible students (through the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme)
cultural events and activities.
