Domestic full fee–paying fees

Read about the domestic full fee–paying place costs (for higher ed students), including tuition, student services and amenities, and other expenses.

A domestic full fee–paying place is one that isn’t subsidised by the Australian Government. This means you’ll be paying the entire tuition fee yourself. If you’re eligible for a FEE-HELP loan, you can defer some or all of this payment.

Eligibility

Some of our postgraduate courses only have full fee–paying places available. You can find out if this is the case by searching for your course and viewing the fees information.

To be eligible for a domestic full fee–paying place you must be an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent visa holder, a New Zealand citizen or a pacific engagement visa holder (PEV).

Your offer letter will indicate if you have been offered a full fee–paying place.

Understand your fees

Your total tuition fee will depend on your course, study load and the year you start. Annual fees are based on a standard study load (full-time enrolment of 120 credit points or 1 EFTSL). If you’re not studying full time, your tuition fee would be a proportion of the 1 EFTSL amount.

Want to know approximately how much your dream course will cost? Search for it and go to the fees section.

You can also see a full list of fees in the 2024 Domestic Postgraduate Full Fee–paying Tuition Fee Schedule (PDF, 478 KB)

Your Student Services and Amenities Fee funds non-academic things like events, wellbeing, careers and student rep groups. The amount is set by the Government and will depend on your enrolment load and mode of study.

Your tuition fee won’t cover things like materials fees, uniforms, textbooks or excursions. To find out if there's a set materials fee for your dream course, search for it and go to the 'Fees' section. If you’d like specific information about uniforms, textbooks or other recommended equipment, search for your course and contact the course coordinator listed in the ‘About this course’ section.
