Certificate III in Engineering (Composites Trade)

So primarily in this course we want students to be looking at the wind industry. However, because it is a trade, all trades should be all encompassing. We don't train people to be very good at one particular thing. We train them to have broad spectrum knowledge so that when they're exposed to things out in the wild, they'll know how to deal with them. And when it comes to this particular field, yes, the guy's going to be working blades, turbines, but we want them to understand comps. It's on a deeper level. That might mean that they'll be able to go and work in, say, the maritime industry doing something as simple as surfboards that could be doing high-end racing yards. They could go on to the aerospace sector. They could be working for Boeing, making wings for planes. What the idea is, is that these guys going to be able to come away from here with foundational knowledge to understand how to do something without being told how to do something. So rather than them coming in and saying how do I make this, they leave here with the ability to say I know that if I'm given the task to make something, what materials I will pick and how I approach making it. And that's the biggest thing we can teach them with a course like this.
