Accommodation

Discover the convenience of living on campus. Enjoy a vibrant community, short commute to classes, all bills included and round-the-clock support.

Make yourself at home

Living on campus is a great way to make your transition to uni easier. You don’t have to think about buying furniture or white goods. All of your bills (utilities and internet) are included in the weekly rental. Having heaps of different housemates is never boring. And your commute to class is negligible – which means a whole lot of sleeping in.

Hear from our students

Prue talks about what it's like to live on campus.

Hi, I'm Prue and I'm studying a Bachelor of Performing Arts at Federation University. I love studying here at Fed. The first year I got here I moved all the way from Darwin in the NT to study at the Arts Academy. In my first year I lived on res and got to experience living with everybody else in my course and I had so much fun. Res in first-year is, especially in the Arts Academy, a really, really good option. Me and my best friend then moved to Mt Helen to do Res, to meet more people from the university who aren't just in our course. I really love our course because the lectures really challenge you to get the best out of you. We do lots of shows in a really short amount of time and they really encourage you to work and perform and learn quickly and that's something that I haven't experienced before and I'm really enjoying.

I'm welcomed here and it feels good to be welcomed in a place that is far away."

Your wellbeing is important

We look after our res students. Sure – you get to live independently, come and go as you please and eat all the noodles you want, but we’re there to support you if you need it, 24/7. Heater not working? Lost your key? Need first aid? Give us a call, day or night. We can also connect you to University services like counselling, careers, equity, accessibility and more.

We have Residential Advisors (RAs) at every campus too. These student leaders provide general guidance, organise activities, enforce housing policies and work to resolve any issues. They'll help you navigate life on res, feel at home and – most importantly – have fun.

Imagine yourself living on res

Decorating your room. Hanging out in the communal lounge. Rolling out of bed and ambling to class. How nice would that be?
