Graduates discuss their transitions from study to work.

Studying at Federation University itself has given me exposure to international industry such as IBM. Eventually in my last semester I fortunate enough to get a job in Ballard Technology Park, which I've got from one of the lecture. They actually offered me a full time job in the as a pre service teacher. We all have to do placement and I was placed locally in Ballarat. I really enjoyed my placement. I was offered a job after placement a few months before I finished my study. So I got the job a few months before I finished and I've been there for a few years. Before becoming a lecturer. I was a student here, I did my master's here and then move on to my PhD. The lecturer knows by name, we're just like friends, closer to friends than lecturer and students. And I moved on to doing PhD. I also had the support and then the opportunity came up and I applied to be a lecturer and here I stay. A master's degree is a big advantage. Also social work is a high demand. I also have been lucky enough to become employee at where I had my last placement, so which is fantastic. What I spent as fees and my time, it's paying back double now. So I'm just, I feel privileged honestly. My final year I was lucky enough to be a session tutor for structural designing, so I was able to work with my fellow lecturers as a tutor. So that experience led me to become a graduate structural engineer at Cardinal TGM in Ballarat. We now run a company together. We are doing website and mobile application developments and designs. We pretty much exploded last year after two years, right? You start, you started to put your word out there, people started knowing about you and then things that just keep rolling upward from there. So we're very optimistic of our future.
